The Duchess of Cambridge is famed for her glossy, lustrous locks.

But she has been offered some sage advice by celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke, who fears she faces potential "disaster" by letting them go grey.

The Duchess, 33, has occasionally revealed a small patch of silver, most recently in February when she was six months pregnant with Princess Charlotte.

But Clarke has urged her never to do so again.

"Kate needs to get rid of her grey hair — it's not a good look," he told the Daily Mail.

"She does have amazing things done to her hair and it can look great, but unfortunately it's the case for women — all women — that until you're really old, you can't be seen to have any grey hairs."

Clarke, 57, who has styled Princess Diana and the Duchess of York, claimed grey hair would be "disastrous" for the Duchess.

He added: "It's different for men. Men can go grey in their mid-50s and still be considered attractive. It's the whole silver fox thing. But it's not the same for women. Kate is such a style icon that even a few strands of grey would be a disaster, so I highly recommend that she cover it up. I hate grey hair."

If I could actually resign from humanity, and there were anywhere else the fuck to actually go...I'd do it.  And don't doubt it for one moment.

Deposition: Cosby paid women to keep affairs secret 

NEW YORK — Bill Cosby, in sworn testimony a decade ago, said he had paid women after sex to keep the affairs from his wife, suggested he was skilled at understanding nonverbal cues for sexual consent and called one of his accusers a liar.

The New York Times reported the revelations Saturday after obtaining a copy of a transcript from a deposition Cosby gave in a lawsuit filed by a former Temple University employee who alleges he drugged and molested her.

According to excerpts from the deposition released a month ago, and first obtained by The Associated Press, Cosby admitted he procured Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with.

The Times, citing the transcript, reports that Cosby told lawyers for Andrea Constand, who worked at Temple in Philadelphia and brought the suit, that he was a “pretty decent reader of people and their emotions in these romantic sexual things.”

He said he offered to pay for Constand’s education and paid another woman whom he had met in 1976. He said he funneled money to one of the women he had sex with through his agent so his wife wouldn’t find out.

Cosby’s publicist, David Brokaw, did not immediately return a message seeking comment late Saturday.

So, it's not so much that Cosby drugged and raped women, as that he drugged and raped women, then tried to pay them off afterwards so his wife wouldn't find out.  Well that's much better.

At points during the deposition, Cosby also described his sexual encounters with the women in detail.

The deposition also paints Cosby as emotionally charming, but he also spoke about disregarding relationships to pursue other women.

He suggested he was skilled at understanding women and nonverbal cues signaling sexual consent.

Wonder what the specific nonverbal cues are for 'please drug me into unconsciousness and then rape me' ?  Completely imaginary ones existing only within Cosby's head perhaps ?

Kirsty MacColl: Us Amazonians

Can it really be fifteen years since Kirsty MacColl was killed/murdered ?  I couldn't believe the numbers when I looked, but it seems to be so.  So many societies drift along without justice ever done.  Presumably it was an accident, of some sort, but with the plutocratic default of our system, one can't but suspect the worse.  I had originally assumed a blameless but horrific accident, from the event, and the more I read, the less I want to know.

Still, I somewhat envy Kirsty and those of a similar generation, for having an optimism and a hope that has never seemed rational in my generation (whatever keeps the millennials going I'll never know).  How much of that is the one or the other, or something else entirely I could hardly say, though not having known her of course myself, Kirsty always seemed to me one of the blazing bright lights of humanity, and a credit to her generation.  I want to believe in the Kirsty's of this world.  They inspire, they encourage, they give hope.  They take on the world, take on racism and misogyny and their ilk, and tell whoever gets in their way to go fuck themselves.  And then, some rich privileged asshole comes along and runs them over in a speedboat...and gets away with it.

One thing I could say is, that although she grew older, Kirsty never got old...never dull...never lost her edge...never lost her passion.  And she went out in her prime...as a confident mature woman, and as an unshakeable talent.  Hers is one fire that'll never fade.
