And now, via the Wikipedia, I know two things I didn't know before:
- That Debbie Harry originally recorded this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ6e_U0oz8Q) -- Basically the exact same song, but sounds weird to me with Debbie's vocals -- I keep thinking of 'Sunday Girl' or 'In the Flesh'.
- That Roger Ebert deigned to review this film, and gave it...1/2 star:
In the computer business, they call it vaporware: software that is announced, advertised and even sold, but that never quite exists. Maybe in the movie business we could coin the term vaporfilm, for movies that zip right through our brains without hitting any memory molecules.
"Summer School" is a movie like that, a comedy so listless, leisurely and unspirited that it was an act of the will for me to care about it, even while I was watching it. This movie has no particular reason for being, other than to supply employment for people whose job possibilities will not be enhanced by it....
Yeah, what was that low-rated show about some bar in Boston that Kirstie Alley started in later that same year ?
Then, Courtney Thorne-Smith was in some show on Fox in the 'nineties that absolutely no-one watched.
And Mark Harmon, I guess he's still on some show on CBS (a spin-off no less), but what kind of ratings can a show about an obscure department of the Navy be getting ?
